Birmingham Public Library Seeks Memories
In her autobiography Change Me Into Zeus' Daughter Barbara Robinette
Moss remembers how she and her siblings would spend hours in the old
Birmingham Public Library admiring books of art. Birmingham author Dennis
Covington recalls that, after acquiring his driver's license, the first
place he drove himself was the downtown Birmingham Public Library. In
April of 2002 the Birmingham Public Library will celebrate the 75th
anniversary of its first central library building, now the Linn-Henley
Research Library. As part of this celebration the library is collecting
reminiscences from those who have used the library over the decades, those
who remember the old library as a teacher and a friend.
