Birmingham Public Library Announces List Of
Authors Attending Alabama Bound 2002

BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The Birmingham Public Library proudly unveils the much-anticipated list of authors scheduled to appear at the 2002 Alabama Bound Book Fair to be held on April 27th. The list includes favorites such as Rick Bragg, Tim Dorsey, Paul Hemphill, Homer Hickham, Robert Inman, Jean Sasson, Mike Stewart, Gayle Wilson and many others.

Alabama Bound ( is an annual Birmingham Public Library event intended to allow the public to meet and greet with various Alabama authors and publishers. This year’s event will have over 50 authors and publishers at the downtown Library to speak about their latest publications, sign copies of their books and speak individually with the public. Aspiring authors will also have an opportunity to speak with representatives from Alabama book and magazine publishers regarding the types of materials they publish.

Also scheduled for the weekend of April 27-28, is Operation New Birmingham’s annual Magic City Art Connection in Linn Park. This popular event hosts artists from around the southeastern United States. Combined with the Library’s Alabama Bound event, this promises to be a great day of literary and artistic enjoyment for the public.

The Birmingham Public Library and its 20 branch locations provide the public with the most current collections, as well as providing the most comprehensive research tools in the state.
