Eastwood Mall Branch Of The Birmingham Public
Library Celebrates 20th Birthday
BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The Birmingham Public Library
cordially invites everyone to the 20th birthday celebration of the Eastwood
Mall Branch to be held Thursday, November 7, 2002, from 10:00 am until 12:00
pm.
Established in 1982, the Eastwood Mall Branch was
uniquely designed from the onset to be a popular materials library and to
look and function like a bookstore. Its collection features only up-to-date,
high-demand, high-interest materials which are available in a variety of
formats for a variety of ages. The Eastwood Mall Branch was established with
the cooperation of Eastwood Mall management to address the growing needs of
a public library in the Eastwood area and has a core patronage of senior
citizens and retired adults, mall walkers, stay-at-home mothers and their
children, and commuters traveling home from work.
The Birmingham Public Library and its 20
branch locations provide the public with the most current collections, as
well as providing the most comprehensive research tools in the state. The
Birmingham Public Library strives to inform visitors by hosting special
programs year round, such as Brown Bag Lunch series and Alabama Bound, as
well as children’s programs from toddlers to teenagers. These programs allow
the public to meet and greet guest lecturers, musicians, authors and
publishers. For more information regarding the Birmingham Public Library and
