Birmingham Public Library Plans To Break Ground
For Five Points West Library
BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The Birmingham Public Library, in
conjunction with the Birmingham Library Board, the Mayor’s Office, the
Birmingham City Council and the Five Points West Community, will break
ground on a new library building on Monday, December 9, 2002 at 2:00 pm. The
location for the groundbreaking is the corner of Avenue W and 47th Street,
across from Fair Park Arena. The new Five Points West Library is part of the
planned Five Points West Municipal Complex.
The new library and municipal complex were designed by
Pantsari Architecture. Contractor for the construction of the new facility
is Golden & Associates Construction.
