Lorraine Johnson-Coleman,
NPR Morning Edition commentator and best-selling author, of Just
Plain Folk, will be the featured storyteller during a program at the
Birmingham Public Library, Thursday, October 25, 2001 from 6:30 –8:00 p.m.
Ms. Johnson-Coleman celebrates the richness and diversity of Southern
culture through two of our staples – storytelling and food.
"If you truly want to learn about the South,
you simply have to start with the food, and if you truly want to learn about
great Southern people, than all you have to do is take the time to break a
little bread with them" say Ms. Johnson-Coleman.
This family event is free and opened to the
public. Program will be held in the Arrington Auditorium at the Birmingham
Public Library, 2100 Park Place. A book signing and reception will follow.
Tapes will also be available.
Reservations are not necessary but seating
is limited so arrive early.
