BPL Celebrates Black History Month With
School Choirs

Lift every voice and sing
Please join us at the Birmingham Public Library each Wednesday during
February at 12:00 noon for our Brown Bag Lunch series. These programs will
be held in the third floor auditorium of the Linn-Henley Building at the
Birmingham Public Library, 2100 Park Place. The Library provides a beverage.
Reservations are not necessary. These programs are free and open to the

February 7
The Minor Junior High School
Choir, honored as one of the best in Birmingham, will perform a variety of
African-American songs under the direction of Damion Womack.
February 14
Mr. Bobby Stringer, Director of
Phillips High School Choir, will direct the choir in selected
African-American songs. As in past years this promises to be an uplifting
event.
February 21
Mr. Melvin Cunningham will
direct the magnificent Jackson--Olin High School Choir in a variety of
various African-American songs. Be prepared for an elevating musical
experience.
February 28
The School of Fine Arts under
the direction of Laura Doss will perform many selections of African-American
nature. This is anticipated to be a wonderful grand finale for our musical
month.
