The Birmingham Public Library will have the following exhibit on display in the Central Library Gallery from February 14-April 30, 2002: Wildlife and Nature Photography.

The exhibit consists of wildlife and nature photographs by J. Malcom Pierson. "My favorite images are usually near water. Many of the photographs were taken in Federal Wildlife refuges scattered throughout the southeastern United states. All of my subjects are wild and free."

Pierson's images capture his love of the lush environment found in the Southeast. He enjoys photographing waterfowl and wading birds, as well as some of the lesser known species of wildflowers, fish, reptiles, and mollusks. His photographs have appeared in a variety of books, popular and scientific journals, and conservation magazines, brochures, and posters.
