Valentine's Day: Make cards for Children's Hospital patients at the Birmingham Public Library
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-For the past few weeks, patrons at the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) have been showing love for patients at Children’s Hospital of Alabama by making Valentine’s Day cards. There are five more opportunities between now and Valentine’s Day (Tuesday, Feb. 14) at various BPL locations for the public to get involved in making more cards for young patients in need of medical care.
In addition, members of Coffee, Conversation & Crafts, an adult program at Springville Road Regional Branch Library, on Jan. 30 decorated cards being distributed to patients at Veterans Hospital. Here is a listing of Valentine’s Day-related activities taking place at BPL locations:
Friday, Feb. 3, 4 p.m. at Powderly Branch Library, 3301 Jefferson Avenue SW, “Let’s Make Valentine Cards for Children’s Hospital”
Monday, Feb. 6, 4 p.m., Smithfield Branch Library, #1 8th Avenue W., “Valentine Card Creations”-
Make Valentine’s Day cards for Children’s Hospital and design your own cards.
Tuesday, Feb. 7, Woodlawn Branch Library, 5709 1st Avenue N. all day during operating hours (8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.), “Let’s Make Valentines for Children’s Hospital” –
Patrons will design Valentines for patients at Children’s Hospital and make their own to take home.
Tuesday, Feb. 7, 6-7:30 p.m., Central Library, 2100 Park Place, “Valentine Family Craft Night” –
Come create Valentine’s Day cards for Children’s Hospital and other fun crafts.
Wednesday, Feb. 8, 3:30-5 p.m., Southside Branch Library, 1814 11th Avenue S., Teen Time Valentine
– Teens will make special valentines for Children’s Hospital.
Monday, Feb. 13, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., Avondale Regional Branch Library, 509 40th Street S., “Tot Time with Mrs. Eve: Happy Valentine’s Day! -
.Join Mrs. Eve for a fun-filled morning of heartfelt love stories. Be sure to bring valentines to exchange with all of your story time friends. Tot Time is geared for 2 to 4 year olds with an individual caregiver. No groups please. 24-hour advance registration required. Register online, email firstname.lastname@example.org

Tuesday, Feb. 14, 4 p.m., Smithfield Branch Library, #1 8th Avenue W., “Valentine’s Day Party”-
Make Valentine’s Day crafts and watch a valentine movie featuring Charlie Brown. Refreshments will be provided.
