Help raise some dough for the Birmingham Public Library at Slice Pizza on June 27
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Help support the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) while enjoying a good meal at Slice Pizza & Brew in Birmingham's Lakeview District on Tuesday, June 27.

 Here is how to help: Present a free dough raising ticket—available at all 19 BPL locations and downloadable at - at Slice Pizza the day of the event. Show the online ticket to Slice staff when you dine in or carry out during operational hours on Tuesday, June 27. Slice will donate 10% of total sales (excluding alcohol) to help fund educational programming at BPL's 19 locations spread across Birmingham's 99 neighborhoods.

The donations will help support BPL efforts to provide services for the public such as the over 500 Summer Reading activities for kids, teens and adults taking place now through the end of July at 19 libraries across the city. Programs include: "Through the Eyes of a Young Poet" teen spoken word poetry camp July 10-14 at the Central Library, weekly Family Nights on Tuesdays at Avondale Regional Library that include Shark Week, Talent Show, Legos and a carnival; Irish Folk Dancing at several locations; M.A.D. Skillz Dance lessons and Drum Circles at several libraries; painting for all ages, and more.
Patrons can also win prizes for reading books at each of BPL’s 19 locations. The more books you read through Aug. 31, the greater your chances of winning. Register online at or at the following link:
