Money Matters workshop series returns to Central Library beginning Oct.18

Birmingham, Ala.-The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) is partnering again this year with UAB’s Regions Institute for Financial Education ( to offer a series of monthly Money Matters workshops to be held at the Central Library downtown at 2100 Park Place. Each workshop covers a different topic, but all are designed to help you gain a better understanding of your personal finances and begin making a plan for the future.

The first Money Matters workshop, entitled Wise Use of Credit, is scheduled for Wednesday Oct. 18, 2017, from 12-1 p.m.  All workshops will be held in the Youth Department’s Story Castle, located on 2nd Floor of the Central Library.  Representatives from the Regions Institute for Financial Education in UAB’s Collat School of Business ( will serve as instructors for each of the workshops.

Here is a listing of the Money Matters Workshop Series by month from October 2017 through May 2018.  The workshops are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, with the exception of the one scheduled for December 2017, which will be held on the 2nd Wednesday.
