All Birmingham Public Library locations to close Thursday, Oct. 19, for Staff Day

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama—All 19 locations of the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) System will be closed this Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, as part of its annual Staff Day. The Central Library, four regional libraries and 14 branches will close all day Thursday as part of staff development and training, an annual event held since 1990.

Staff Day is designed to bring library staff together to know each other better have fun as a family unit and learn how to take care of patrons even better. All 19 libraries in the BPL System will re-open during normal business hours this Friday, Oct. 20.
