Teens Engineer BHM workshops being offered at 11 libraries across Birmingham
Birmingham, Ala.-Attention Birmingham teenagers interested in math and science careers: Make sure to take advantage of a series of free engineering workshops being offered in 11 Birmingham Public Library (BPL) locations across the city this spring.
BPL has released workshop dates for its popular Teens Engineer BHM program. The workshops begin Saturday, March 3 at Powderly Branch Library and continue at 10 other libraries before concluding at Powderly Library on May 3. Read more at this link:
Teens Engineer BHM focuses on middle and high school students with an interest in math and science. The program was formed as the result of Lance Simpson of BPL’s partnership with the UAB School of Engineering. BPL was awarded a $50,000 UAB Benevolent Fund grant in 2016, which helped purchase computers and other supplies necessary for the success of the program. In 2017,  BPL received a $95,000 two-year grant to expand the engineering program to other libraries across the City of Birmingham.
