The Birmingham Public Library Targets Youth During November’s Healthy Living Month

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA  (November 8, 2013) ­–  The downtown Birmingham Public Library’s Youth Department has declared November as “Healthy Living Month” and has two events planned to encourage healthy living. Both events will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the library’s Story Castle, 2100 Park Place. These free events are ideal for fourth through eighth grade. Organizers hope to help students make good eating and exercise choices, especially during the holidays. For more information, call 226-3655.

Wednesday, November 13
Hoop for Fitness
Discover that hula hooping is more than child's play in this afternoon fitness class. Students will learn fun tricks in this cool dance activity. Hula hoops will be provided. Fitness instructor Robbie Lewis will lead the class.

Wednesday, November 20
Gobble, Gobble!
Make edible turkey crafts and healthy holiday snacks during this tasty holiday program. Librarian Katie Williams will teach this session.
