New Releases on the November 22, 1963 Assassination of President John F. Kennedy Available at the Birmingham Public Library
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – (November 19, 2013) – President John F. Kennedy was fatally shot in Dallas, Texas on Nov. 22, 1963 while riding in a motorcade. To mark the 50th anniversary of his passing, the Birmingham Public Library has identified books and DVDs that look at the life, death and legacy of America’s 35th president. The downtown location has nearly 300 books, CDs, downloadables, DVDs and government publications on President Kennedy, including several new books that were published this year.
“The fact that over 200 books about JFK have been published in the year 2013 alone is solid evidence of the public’s enduring interest in the late president,’’ said Jim Murray, head of the downtown library’s Business, Science and Technology Department. “Anyone looking for information about President Kennedy would benefit from a visit to their local library.’’
BPL also offers a vast array of newspaper and magazine articles about President Kennedy, including ones that date back to the time of his presidency. For more information, call Murray or David Ryan at 226-3690.
