The City of Birmingham and the Birmingham Public Library to Show Free Film Screenings Prior to the Dalai Lama's Oct. 26 Visit
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – The Dalai Lama will be in Birmingham this week as part of Human Rights Week. Prior to his public appearance on Sunday, Oct. 26 at Regions Field, the City of Birmingham and the Birmingham Public Library have planned several free film screenings that celebrate the human spirit, the quest for freedom and the power of individuals to change the world.
Several library locations will show the documentary "Ten Questions for the Dalai Lama,'' Oct. 21 - 23:
Tuesday, Oct. 21, 6:30 p.m., Springville Road Library, 1224 Old Springville Road
Wednesday, Oct. 22, 6:30 p.m., East Lake Library, #5 Oporto Madrid Blvd.
Thursday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m., Smithfield Library, 1 Eighth Ave. West
Thursday, Oct. 23, 11 a.m., Titusville Library, 2 Sixth Ave. Southwest
Walden Media will host free screenings of different films on Friday, Oct. 24 at the Birmingham Museum of Art and on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Alabama Theatre.
The four Walden Media films are free, but attendees must register in advance, via Eventbrite.
