Children Big on Reading Could Attend the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for Free in Birmingham, January 21-23
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – (Jan. 2, 2015) – The Birmingham Public Library is using reading to get children excited about the circus coming to town later this month. The library system has partnered with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for the “Reading with Ringling Bros.’’ program, which rewards children with FREE circus tickets for reading five books.
The program is for ages 2 to 12. Children may read independently or have books read to them. Tickets are only good for shows Jan. 21-23 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in downtown Birmingham.
This is how the program works:
A) A child must read five books.
B) Once they’ve read five books, they should bring a list of their five books to the library to receive a voucher for a free circus ticket.
C) The child’s parent or guardian should take the voucher to the BJCC, where the parent or guardian must purchase an adult ticket in order to redeem the child’s voucher for a free ticket. (One paid adult ticket is good for up to three free children’s tickets.)
D) The voucher is only good for the Jan. 21-23 shows, upper level seating at the BJCC.
Vouchers are available at all 19 Birmingham library locations, while supplies last. For more information, call 226-3655 or your library location.
