Birmingham Public Library to be closed Thursday through Sunday for Thanksgiving Holiday; Some Locations to Host Thanksgiving and Other Holiday Activities This Week
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama—The Birmingham Public Library System’s 19 locations will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday beginning this Thursday, November 26, through Sunday. The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) locations will reopen during regular business hours on Monday, November 30.
Here are activities taking place in some Birmingham Public Library locations to get you in the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday mood this week through Monday, November 30. A listing of other Christmas-related activities taking place in BPL locations will be released next week:
North Birmingham Branch Library, 2501 31st Ave. North
  •  Monday, November 23 – Turkey give-away drawing (from the names of all of the participants in the decorating of placemats for the Jimmie Hale Mission and Jessie’s Place at Thanksgiving Dinner)
  • Monday, November 23 -  Turkey give-away drawing (from the adult participants who read two or more books)
  • Tuesday, November 24, 4:00 p.m., Thanksgiving Grub-down (Touch the pets and feed them their Thanksgiving dinner)
  • Wednesday, November 25, 4:00 p.m. – Dynamic Education Adventures (DEA brings spectacular science fun for the holidays)
  • Monday, November 30, 6:00 p.m. – Got to Dance (All ages, patrons are invited to “dance in” the Christmas season
Springville Road Regional Branch Library, 1224 Old Springville Road   
  • Monday, November 30, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  – Coffee, Conversations and Craft Adult Program – Holiday Luminaries 
 Central Library Friends Bookstore, 2100 Park Place 
  • Annual Holiday $10 Bag Sale, now through December 25, 2015
