Central Library temporarily reduces operating hours due to air conditioning problems
Due to air conditioning issues in the East Building of the Central Library, the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) has reduced operating hours in its East Building at 2100 Park Place downtown until the problem can be fixed.
The East Building’s 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors will be open for the week of Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., closing early due to the increased afternoon heat, according to interim BPL Director Sandi Lee. The first floor of the East Building (Fiction Department/Circulation Department) will remain open until 6 p.m. The Linn Henley Research Library will maintain its regular hours, open for business from 9 a. m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Check back with the BPL website for updates.
