Hallo-Read Fall Celebration at North Avondale Library, Fall Festival at Smithfield Library programs today among Halloween programs at Birmingham Public Library
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama—The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) has plenty of opportunities for you to get in the Halloween spirit as the spooky holiday approaches through Monday, Oct. 31, 2016.
Today, Thursday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m., patrons at Eastwood Branch Library, 4500 Montevallo Road, can assemble their own Halloween masks made from paper plates. This program was a recipient of a BPL Board of Trustees Innovative Cool award. This evening from 6-7 p.m., North Avondale Branch Library, 501 43rd St. North, will host its annual Hallo-Read Fall Celebration. Participants will play will play storybook bingo, make a craft, listen to music, and enjoy some fun food. Everyone will be given a goody bag to take home. Registration in advance is required. Also today, Thursday, Oct. 27, a Halloween Fall Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Smithfield Branch Library, #8 8th Court West. Springville Road Regional Library’s Halloween Carnival Fall Festival will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. In addition, all 19 BPL locations across Birmingham will be giving away free treats to library patrons on Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31, 2016.

Tot Time with Mrs. Eve – Happy Halloween! Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, 9:30 a.m. 
Wear your non-scary Halloween costume for a non-scary Tot Time filled with stories, songs and lots of Trick-or-Treat fun for everyone. Story time designed for 2 to 4 year olds, with a parent or caregiver; no groups, please. Times: 9:30 a.m. with a repeat performance at 11 a.m. Call 205-226-4003 to register.
East Lake Branch Library, #5 Oporto-Madrid Boulevard 
Guess how many treats are in the witches caldron contest at East Lake Library!" throughout October
Children are invited to guess how many Halloween treats are in the witches’ caldron and win a treat!

Halloween Coloring at East Lake Library, Monday, Oct. 31, 3 p.m.
Come and color a fun spooky Halloween picture of pumpkins, ghost, bats and things that go bump in the night!

All of October: No Tricks, All Treats - Adults, enter your name in a drawing each time you check out two books or audiobooks. Three bags of treats will be given away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016.

Pratt City Branch Library, 509 Dugan Ave.  
Halloween Party with a movie, plus Halloween candy or bag give-a-ways, Monday, Oct. 31, 3-5 p.m.

Smithfield Branch Library, #1 8th Ave. West`
Fall Festival, Thursday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Smithfield Library will be passing out goody bags all day at the library in celebration of its annual Halloween Fall Festival! Children of all ages are welcome to visit the library, with or without costumes, to receive a goody bag.

Southside Library, 1814 11th Ave. South
Count the Candy Corn, through Oct.29, 2016 - Patrons of all ages can guess the number of candy corn items in a jar. The winner's name will be drawn on Oct. 31. The prize will be a selection of books.
Halloween candy give-away to patrons, Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, all day until library closes. 

Springville Road Regional Library, 1224 Old Springville Road
Halloween Carnival Family Night, Monday, Oct. 31, 6 p.m.
The whole family is invited to join Springville Road Regional Library for games, crafts, candy and costumes! Great family activities for all to enjoy.
