For equipment support Help us locate and digitize
Birmingham historical resources Materials The BPL Digital Collections database
was created to preserve and make available the local history of Birmingham
and the surrounding area. These resources can help students, teachers,
genealogists, historians, and interested citizens learn more about the
history of Birmingham. To make this project a success, we need
access to materials that are in private hands. If you have photographs or
other historical items you think might be of interest and are
willing to either donate the materials to the Birmingham Public Library
Archives Department or let us make a copy for digitizing, then
we would like to hear from you. All of the photographs already online have
been donated by citizens, companies and organizations like you. For more information contact: Jim Baggett, Archivist Funding Digitizing costs money. If you
have any ideas about where we might find funding, please tell us about
them.
Would your organization be interested in funding a project? Are you a
member of a local foundation or corporate giving committee? Or, would you
like to make a donation to help us? If you can help, please get in touch
with us. Thank you. Renee Blalock, Director |
