Asteroid & Comet Impact Hazards Created by the National Aeronautics and Space Agency this site reports on efforts to monitor the skies for potentially dangerous asteroids or comets. Visitors may browse through NASA's fact sheet on asteroids and comets and view images and animations of actual and imagined impacts.

Comet Observation Home Page This site tracks comets from the beginning of the 19th century and offers images of comets, details of the nights on which specific comets were visible, and the locations from which they could be seen. Information is provided on comets that are currently visible, and the site incorporates a dictionary of terminology used in studying comets.

Extrasolar Planets Encyclopedia A site that explores the possibility of planets that exist outside our solar system. Nine Planets Operated by the Lunar Planetary Laboratory at the University of Arizona, Nine Planets presents an extraordinary introduction to the solar system. The site is organized by planet with excellent general narrative, factual, and graphical information about each. Sections are also included on the sun and other solar system bodies. Views of the Solar System contains more than 1,000 pages of information and a multitude of images and animations. Visitors may explore the sun, moon, and all of the planets, as well as other celestial bodies such as comets and meteorites. For each planet a concise history is provided along with statistics, characteristics and scores of pictures and multimedia. A detailed history of space exploration is also provided.  Without question, the best site on the Internet devoted to the solar system.
