Albert Einstein Online If you're researching Albert Einstein, this site is an excellent place to start. Tabbed as a National Academy of Science "cool science site", Einstein Online is a web index providing biographical links, historical period links, physics links, and Einstein autobiographical excerpts.  Additionally, visitors may access quotes, images, and related resources. 

Biographies of Women Mathematicians Authored by the Agnes Scott College, these pages are part of an on-going project by students in mathematics classes at Agnes Scott College, in Atlanta, Georgia, to illustrate the numerous achievements of women in the field of mathematics. There are biographical essays or comments on women mathematicians. Images are provided, if available. The list of entries appears in both alphabetical and chronological order.

Faces of Science Profiled here are African American men and women who have contributed to the advancement of science and engineering.  African American chemists, biologists, inventors, engineers, and mathematicians are included.  Biographies are arranged via particular field of contribution.  Pictures are available.

Innovative Lives 
A fabulous resource on famous inventors and their inventions. The site is authored by the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation at the Smithsonian Institution. 

NASA Astronaut Biographies this site developed and maintained by NASA includes photographs, personal data, education, honors, NASA experience, and space flight experience for current astronaut candidates, former astronauts, cosmonauts, and payload specialists.

National Inventors Hall of Fame  
Authored by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, this site allows visitors to search for inventors alphabetically or by performing a text search of the site. Entries are concise and include images.  An excellent resource for students completing projects on famous inventors. 

Science Odyssey Designed to complement a PBS television series of the same name, Science Odyssey contrasts what was known in 1900 to what is known today in the fields of medicine and health, physics and astronomy, human behavior, technology, and earth and life sciences.  Follow the People and Discoveries link on the homepage for a plethora of biographical data on men and women of science as well as information on scientific discoveries. Discoveries are searchable by year or particular field.  Pictures are available for every entry, biographical and discovery. An excellent resource for students. 

Eric Weissten's World of Scientific Biography  Compiled by a former research scientist, Eric W. Weisstein, in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Virginia, this site has won numerous awards and honors. An excellent resource for biographical information searchable by branch of science, gender/minority status, historical periods, nationality, and prize winners.  One of the best sites on the web for scientific biographies.
