American Red Cross The Birmingham Area Chapter of the American Red Cross provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Birmingham Health Care for the Homeless This organization's mission is to improve the health status of homeless people and to provide linkage to existing community services.
Birmingham PATH program This organization provides an avenue for homeless women and children to become self-sufficient.
Bread And Roses Bread And Roses provides shelter, food, clothing, and supportive services to homeless women and their children.
First Light First Light provides emergency shelter and food to homeless women and children, long-term housing for elderly and mentally ill homeless women, a literacy program, an after-school performing arts program for at-risk youth, an apprenticeship program for adults seeking a new job skill with work experience, and opportunities to meet with agencies and organizations that can provide parenting skills and help in keeping families healthy and working together.
Greater Birmingham Ministries Greater Birmingham Ministries is an ecumenical, interfaith and interracial Birmingham metropolitan organization that works to ease the burden of families facing emergency hardships while working in community with others to address those issues that keep so many people poor. We are sponsored by twelve local denominations and a synagogue and supported by dozens of local congregations.
Interfaith Hospitality House This organization mission is to provide safe, human intervention assistance to families who have lost their homes, to prevent homelessness as much as possible, and to promote initiatives for affordable housing and strengthening the family. This shelter accepts families containing both sexes and all age ranges.
Jimmie Hale Mission This organization is an interdenominational Christian ministry to the hungry, homeless and hurting in Birmingham
Old Firehouse Shelter " The mission of The Cooperative Downtown Ministries is to provide to homeless men in the Birmingham area a nurturing and caring environment while empowering each individual to reach his full potential."
Salvation Army In Birmingham, the Salvation Army provides more than 30,000 nights lodging a year to more than 7,000 individuals.
United Way of Central Alabama This organization is a leader in the community, bringing together government, private industry, faith-based organizations and other non-profits to provide solutions. |
