Most townships in "Southern Surveyors Districts" labeled A, B·, C, D, or +, but there is no legend to explain labels.; Library copy is labeled "468", but this appears to be an accession number rather than a part of the original map.

Proposed New Surveys Shaded red marked N". The townships are not shaded and marked as the text states. Surveyors Genls. Office. 1 October 1843 Jams. H. Weakley Surveyor Genl. of the Public lands in Alabama."; The map is on poor quality paper and lacks borders as found on all other editions. Other than the added text and the poor quality, the map is almost identical to the 1841 GPO edition.; Shows Choctaw cession of 1830, Creek cession of 1832, Chickasaw cession of 1833 and Cherokee cession.
