Map continues beyond borders of Georgia and Alabama.; In upper corners: 53 and 54; The map of Alabama shows Birmingham, founded December 1871, and does not show Cullman County, founded 1877. Several atlases were published during this period. The 1873 atlas cited best matches the size of the map, and its date has been chosen as the most likely date of the map.
