Watercolor painting of Varina Anne Davis from Mississippi clothed in a long dress and holding a fan. Painted for A Calendar of Southern Beauties, published by Frederick Stokes Co. in 1894 and sold at the Atlanta Exposition. Painting was also used to illustrate the poetry of Samuel Minturn Peck in his book Fair Women of To-day. Printed in Art of the New South by Vicki Leigh Ingham (p. 20)
